Meet Amanda Diaz

Amanda Diaz began her education journey at Nova Southeastern University, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Inspired by charismatic and passionate professors, she developed a passion for creating an engaging and inclusive classroom. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Education in 2019, and then gained practical experience as a High School teacher through an internship. This fueled her drive for further education, leading her to a Master of Arts Degree in English from Arizona State University.

During her graduate studies, Amanda interned with the Pen Project, aiding incarcerated individuals in acquiring education and skills. This revealed the shortcomings in accommodating neurodivergent youth within the public education system, sparking her advocacy for inclusivity and differentiation in various settings.

In 2021, Amanda became an Assistive Technology Instructor at the Lighthouse of Broward, helping blind individuals develop crucial skills. Her time there confirmed her belief in disabled youth’s potential when properly supported. This belief guided her as an Academic Tutor at College Living Experience, where she guided neurodivergent college students.

Now, at Evolve Learning Community, Amanda is dedicated to an inclusive and engaging classroom. She emphasizes accessible education and personalized learning, aiming to nurture her students’ growth. Her goal is to foster meaningful connections and discussions, where students can explore challenging topics and inspire each other’s progress.
